Beat Saber update 1.25 adds even more free songs

Developer Beat Games has dropped another new update for everybody’s favourite VR rhythm action behemoth, Beat Saber.

Go to fire up Beat Saber on PlayStation VR and you’ll need to download and install version 1.25 with the PC Steam and Oculus platforms having received new updates as well.

Headlining this latest patch is a trio of new playable tracks to slash your virtual light swords at – and they’re all free!

As the tweet indicates, Beat Saber fans can expect three new songs from Japanese artist Camellia including “Exit This Earth’s Atmosphere”, “GHOST”, and “Light It Up”.

Since launch, Beat Saber has continued to flesh out its catalogue with free and paid for songs. Premium track packs include the excellent Monstercat music pack, as well as those featuring more familiar artists including Imagine Dragons, Panic! at the Disco, and Green Day. There’s also a six track Rocket League pack available (which also happens to the best in our opinion).

Aside from the new songs, here’s what else you can expect from the latest update. Please see the patch notes below:

Version 1.25

  • Added 3 free new tracks by Camellia.
  • Grouped together all Camellia songs into one pack.
  • Added button to clear local leaderboards in Party mode.

Beat Saber continues to be our top pick for PlayStation VR, mainly due to its simplicity. However, upon release, if there was one gripe we had with the game it was a noticeable lack of songs. Thankfully, for the past year of so, Beat Games has continued to roll out a great selection of free music for everyone who owns a copy of the game and hopefully that won’t stop in 2020.
