Love is in the air, and it’s all around and is a many splendored thing. Love lifts us up where we belong, where the eagles fly, over mountains high, and love, love changes everything. How will I know if he really loves me? The answer is clear: go online, shoot people in the face!
That is the power of love and Bungie know it as their festival of silly love games is back for 2020 with plenty of digital goodies to be earned.
1: Requirements
What is love? Well if you are just stepping in to the world of Destiny 2, you will need to make sure you have completed these two requirements:
- Escape the Cosmodrome to unlock the Tower
- Achieve 790 Power
Everyone else should be able to head straight over to Lord Shaxx in the Tower to start the event.
2: Bounties
All you need is love. Well, love and bounties, as soon as you’ve had a chat with Shaxx you should get the Fire of the Crimson Days emblem and start earning Confectionery Hearts, which are earned through completing bounties and playing matches in the Crimson Days Doubles playlist. There will be two weekly bounties and four daily bounties and they are well worth doing, because along with earning you Confectionery Hearts you also get Double XP and Bright Dust!
3: Crimson Doubles
Love is just a game so it’s time to head to the Crucible for some PvP action. Crimson Doubles is simply an enhanced version of the Doubles mode that occasional shows up in Crucible Playlists. Communication is key here – or love will tear you apart, again – as you have to stay near your partner to gain buffs, stray too far apart and you will show up on the enemy radar allowing them to hunt and kill you down more easily.
Here are the features of the mode:
Reunited
Reunited is a special buff that increases the recharge rate of Guardian abilities for teammates who are close together.Falling Apart
Falling Apart is a debuff that grants enemy teammates waypoints to your location when you and your teammate drift too far apart in a Crucible match.Vengeance
Vengeance is triggered when a player’s teammate is defeated in combat. For a short time, the surviving player is granted significantly increased ability regeneration, and receives a small portion of their health back.
Complete matches to earn valour; complete bounties and earn Confectionery Hearts.
4: The Loot
The Confectionery Hearts you have earned by playing Crimson Doubles can be exchanged with Shaxx for some digital goodies including a shell, three sparrows, The Vow (Masterworked), and a dance. If you earn the SVC-12 Sparrow and your partner has the IVC-10 Sparrow you can fly beside each other to make a big red heart of love within the game. Awww.

You can also exchange Confectionery Hearts for a Warmhearted Gift which randomly awards Glimmer, weapons, and gear.
5: The Triumphs
As usual there are a number of Triumphs to complete during the event, most of them should be easy to complete. Note that once Crimson Days has ended these Triumphs will be hidden so you need to redeem them before the weekly reset on February 18th.
