The hotly anticipated PS4 exclusive is the latest game from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, having already scooped some of 2020’s most glowing reviews.

Nioh 2 builds upon the 2017 Soulslike with an expanded pool of combat mechanics, new weapons, and full online co-op. Here’s what Jason had to say in his review, scoring Nioh 2 a near-perfect 9/10:

Nioh 2 builds on the excellence of the original with a fistful of new twists and ideas, from new Yokai abilities to full-on co-op through the entire game. Nioh 2 might well be the best Soulslike that isn’t a FromSoftware game, and it’s easily one of my personal contenders for Game of the Year.

In the meantime there will be those already eyeing up the game’s coveted platinum trophy. Here’s the full list of virtual silverware you can unlock playing Nioh 2. At a glance, scoring 100% doesn’t appear to be too difficult with no trophies requiring you to notch up the difficulty. However, finding those Kodama and maxing out weapons will take some time to grind out for sure.
