Nintendo kick off eShop Spring Sale with up to 80% off Switch games

Nintendo have launched their Spring Sale for Nintendo Switch, following hot on the heels of Sony’s PlayStation Store sale yesterday. You can save up to 80% on digital games, and as usual there’s a broad selection to choose from, with Nintendo promising more are on the way.

The sale is live now, via your web browser or the eShop on Switch, and will run until 19th April. However, you’ll want to check back in this time next week at 2PM on 9th April, as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Kirby Star Allies and more will be added to the listings. Don’t expect the deepest of price cuts, but they should at least be relatively competitive against the retail prices, where Nintendo games traditionally maintain their value.

In the here and now, we’re seeing game at or close to their best historical sale prices. Mario + Rabbids is a steal at £7.49, and Civilization VI for £22 might prove worth it for the addictive gameplay. Meanwhile indie hits like Moonlighter (£8.99), Gris (£7.24), Golf Story (£6.74) and My Friend Pedro (£12.59) are all at what I believe are their best discount prices yet.

For now, here’s some of the highlights:
