EGX Rezzed 2020 has now been properly cancelled because of Covid-19

The writing has been on the wall for a while now, but the already delayed EGX Rezzed 2020 has now been fully cancelled for 2020. I’m sure you can figure out why.

Everyone with a ticket will be able to use it to attend the flagship EGX event that is currently still scheduled to take place from 17th to 20th September, but you are also entitled to a full refund.

EGX Rezzed is Gamer Network and ReedPOP’s indie-focussed showcase, having first been held in the summer of 2012 and moving around to different venues and times of year before settling in Tobacco Dock in London and a late March slot in 2015. It’s become a staple gaming event in the UK, with tons of indie developers flocking to show their wares, often with the backing of larger publishers and console manufacturers.

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic forced the organisers to initially postpone the showcase from March until early July, and now cancel it outright.

The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives here in the UK and across the world, with many of our exhibitors and creators facing travel restrictions and quarantine measures. After extensive discussions with all the relevant public health, local and national authorities, and with our Rezzed partners, we have taken the decision not to go ahead with this year’s event.

We thank everyone who has prepared to deliver what promised to be a fantastic event over the past year, showcasing the best of indie gaming to the incredible Rezzed community.

Again, anyone with a ticket is entitled to use this to attend EGX in September at the ExCel in London (which is currently an almost empty Nightingale ward for Covid patients) instead, or simply refund their ticket. To do this, email [email protected] with an order number and their Customer Services team will process the refund.
