Last week, 2K Games announced PGA Tour 2K21 with a teaser trailer and confirmed more details would be released this week. Well, those details are now here. First of all the release date for PGA Tour 2K21 is August 21st and the game will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Switch, and Stadia. The game is being developed by HB Studio, the same studio behind The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour, so there is already some expertise on hand. Speaking of expertise the cover star will be Justin Thomas and he will be joined by 11 other PGA Tour professionals. PGA Tour 2K21 will feature 15 courses.
PGA Tour 2K21 has a Career Mode in which players will create their characters to face off against the other pros in a bid to become the FedEx Cup Champion. The MyPlayer aspect means players will be able to customise their characters in a similar way that can be done in games such as WWE 2K and NBA 2K. There will be various brands included to kit out your character including Callaway Golf, Malbon Golf, and Bridgestone Golf. Outside of career there are both local and online multiplayer options with game modes such as 4-Player Scramble, Stroke Play, and Skins. Players can also create Online Societies where they can run full length seasons and tournaments with friends. The events can be customised with different rules and requirements.
2K has a partnership with Adidas allowing for some pre-order bonuses. Anyone who pre-orders will get a Codechaos MyPlayer pack that features Codechaos Boa golf shoes, polo top, hat and trousers. Anyone who gets the digital deluxe version will get the same pack and the Golden Touch pack which includes a gold putter and driver as well as 2300 VC. Yep, the game will feature VC so we shall see just how balanced it all is with that incorporated.
