EA has released the reveal trailer for Madden 21 and along with it confirmed that the game will be available on August 28th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. However, if you pre-order Madden 21 then you will get three days early access to the game. So, the release date for those who pre-order is August 25th. The trailer shows a few different things from the gamplay including better stick control, more fluid movements on the field, and more customisable player celebrations.
The Madden 21 trailer description reads:
“Innovative gameplay mechanics in Madden NFL 21 offer advanced levels of control and inspire creativity on both sides of the ball. Feel all-out control with the new Skill Stick ball-carrier system, dominate the edge with fresh pass rush moves, experience more open-field realism with tackle improvements, and have more fun with user-controlled celebrations.”
EA had previously postponed the announcement for Madden 21 following the protests against police brutality in the US, as well as the general issues of systematic biases. EA also confirmed that the free next gen upgrade from Xbox One to Xbox Series X for Madden 21 would be available up until the release of Madden 22 following some backlash to the three to four month upgrade period originally advertised. When this change was announced EA said:
“Having listened to our players response we’re extending the offer all the way through our Madden 21 season up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade to Madden NFL 21 on Xbox Series X whenever they first purchase their new console within that period.”
