It Takes Two is the next co-op title from Josef Fares and Hazelight

Hazelight has announced its new title during EA Play Live with Josef Fares confirming the studio is working on It Takes Two. It Takes Two is a co-op action-adventure platformer. Hazelight is known for its co-op games having released Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and A Way Out. It Takes Two is described as an innovative title that will have emotional storytelling and varied gameplay. The release announcement is below.

The characters are two dolls made of clay called Cody and May. They are created by a young child called Rose, and somehow the dolls come to life. A lot of the gameplay mechanics are linked to emotions so you could make a link to Inside Out in a way, though they will be used differently here. It Takes Two will be released in 2021. If you are yet to play a Hazelight title you can see what we thought of their previous game below.

In our A Way Out review, Stefan wrote:

After Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, I came into A Way Out with expectations of a fraught and trying prison escape drama. That’s just the beginning though, and it soon transforms into a fun revenge flick. It doesn’t have the emotional impact of Brothers, and there’s some rough edges from the breadth of ideas that Hazelight include, but most importantly we just had a lot of fun.
