Genshin Impact final closed beta begins July 2nd

Last month, miHoYo announced that there would be one last closed beta for the open world RPG Genshin Impact and that it would be playable on mobile, PC, and PS4. It will be the first time one of Genshin Impact’s betas has been available on the PS4. Today, miHoYo confirmed that the final closed beta will begin on July 2nd, and that there will be full cross-play across the platforms so players can team up and explore the world of Teyvat together. In the closed beta players will be able to explore the cities of Mondstadt and Liyue, along with some of the surrounding areas. The full game will have seven major cities in total. Players will be able to move around in groups of four to fight enemies, explore different areas, and solve some puzzles. You can listen to game’s soundtrack below.

Speaking about the final beta, miHoYo said:

“We are thrilled to see that players all around the world had a blast in Genshin Impact’s last Closed Beta while offering valuable feedback on various aspects of the game. We plan to implement some changes and optimizations in the Final Closed Beta based on what we have heard and learned,” said Hugh Tsai, Genshin Impact’s producer. The cross-platform co-op mode is an important component of Genshin Impact, and it will be a core part of the Final Closed Beta experience. We are very excited to see how players react to the team-oriented gameplay.”

In Genshin Impact players take on the role of The Traveler who washes up on the shores of Teyvat. The main story will be about searching for the character’s sibling but there will be plenty of other quests to experience. There will be over 30 companions to ally with to make up your party of four. Genshin Impact has been confirmed for Switch too but the beta will not be available on that platform.
