The Red Door listing appears on Microsoft Store, could be a codename for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

There have been rumours that Treyarch’s Call of Duty game will be a reboot of Black Ops with the full game being called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. An apparent leaked image gave some credence to the idea of a rebooted Black Ops, but Activision has remained quiet about the next game. It is a bit odd considering by around now we would have the first details of the annual Call of Duty title. There have also been postings of a mysterious listing on the PS Store called “COD2020INTALPHA1” could mean it’s the Call of Duty 2020 Alpha,the file also refers to The Red Door. Now, The Red Door has been found once again and this time it is on the Microsoft Store

The description for The Red Door reads:

“There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?”

It is a mysterious description but does follow the theme of the early Black Ops games which also focused on a plot where the truth was concealed. The Red Door could allude to the story of the next Call of Duty game, possibly focusing on a person defecting from the West to the USSR in search of a truth. After all, the colour red is associated with the USSR. The file size for this title is 81.65 GB, which is not out of the ordinary for a Call of Duty title. However, the only way to access the content is through redeeming a code so there is no way to know what is exactly behind The Red Door yet. It is likely Activision and Treyarch will soon release details about Call of Duty 2020, and either confirm or put to bed that the next game is a Black Ops reboot.
