Ubisoft have stopped by to tell us that Wrath of the Druids, the first major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will launch on April 29th. A grump may argue that with over 100 hours of content in the game it really didn’t need an expansion, but it’s getting one anyway and it features annoyed druids who, historically, were not big fans of violence and armed combat.
In Wrath of the Druids, available on 29th April, players will journey to Ireland and unravel the mysteries of an ancient and mysterious druidic cult, tracking and discovering their members. Diving into Gaelic myths and folklores, they’ll need to fight their way through haunted forests and dazzling landscapes while gaining influence among Gaelic kings. The Wrath of the Druids expansion can be purchased as a standalone. Players can also access the expansion through the Season Pass, available now or as part of the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gold, Ultimate, and Collector Editions.
The game is currently holding a free seasonal event, the Ostara Festival, which is basically Easter. You won’t be dressing up as a bunny and looking for eggs, you’re a Viking so you will be celebrating the dawn of Spring by punching people and getting very, very drunk. Huzzah!
Here’s what you can expect:
- Settlement decoration activity
- Drinking, Archery, and Fighting mini-games
- Three new character quests: Eivor can enjoy an Egg Hunt, the May-Queen celebration, and protect the settlement against night spirits
- Three new skills: Fearless Leaper lets Eivor land a mastered falling attack atop enemies, while the Raven’s Loot and Loot Food skills increase Eivor’s efficiency when at range or fighting close-up
- Exclusive rewards including settlement decorations and customisation items
The game also received a rather large patch just two days ago which added transmog, a feature that lets you keep the stats of a piece of armour but change it’s appearance.
