Cooking Simulator’s Shelter DLC makes you as a chef in a post apocalyptic wasteland

You can never trust a press release that comes in on April Fool’s Day, so the safe bet is to always wait. One of those press releases that arrived on the day was for a piece of DLC for the game Cooking Simulator, and was about becoming  a chef in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Well, it turns out Big Cheese Studio was not joking and Cooking Simulator- Shelter is a real piece of DLC.

In Cooking Simulator Shelter, you play as an individual searching for their family in a post apocalyptic wasteland. As the character makes the journey they arrive at a place called Sector 12 which has a broken radio dish. The aim is to fix this dish to send out a message but as a chef the character does not have all the necessary skills, so the locals need to be consulted. Obviously, they will not help for nothing so your character becomes the Sector 12 chef in an effort to win the locals over. The features of Shelter include:

  • Career mode with an immersive story. Make use of your resourcefulness and uncommon cooking skills to contact your long-lost family.
  • An underground shelter in the middle of a barren wasteland.
  • Post-apocalyptic recipes based on previously unknown ingredients.
  • Hunting for mutant meat and growing glowing mushrooms and vegetables.
  • Sandbox mode.

Cooking Simulator originally released in 2019 on PC, and is currently priced at £15.49. A release date for the Shelter DLC is yet to be confirmed, but it is available to wishlist on Steam.
