Immortals Fenyx Rising – The Lost Gods DLC is out next week.

Ubisoft has announced that Immortals Fenyx Rising – The Lost Gods, the third story DLC for Immortals Fenyx Rising, will launch next week on 22nd April for (deep breath) PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. That’s a lot of platforms!

The expansion gives us a new viewpoint on the mythological adventure, quite literally. Everything is played from an overhead “god’s eye” view, centred on Ash, a new mortal playable character. Ash is travelling to the Pyrite Island to find and reunite the gods who left Olympos and convince them to return. Considering that this includes the likes of Poseidon and Hades, it makes sense that the world’s balance is out of order!

With a new viewpoint comes a new style of gameplay as well. There will be plenty of monsters to battle, with the game switching to a top-down brawler style of combat.

The expansion follows on from the A New God DLC in January, which saw the titular Fenyx take on a series of trials to earn their ascension to godhood, and then the Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC in March, which introduced a new hero, Ku, as they sought the help of Chinese goddess Nuwa to restore balance following a war in Heaven. The Lost Gods is the third and final narrative expansion to the game.

Immortals Fenyx Rising was a popular release at the end of 2020. In our Immortals Fenyx Rising review, Aran wrote:

Putting the obvious parallels to one side, Immortals Fenyx Rising is a thoroughly enjoyable game. The main character is very likeable, and the humour between the characters is great, while the Golden Isle looks fantastic and is filled with content without also feeling overwhelming. It takes a while for the combat to grow, and the end portion of the game drags on, but if you want a fun and compact open world game then Immortals Fenyx Rising is well worth playing.
