A new trailer for the puzzle platformer Tandem: A Tale of Shadows has been revealed by developer Monochrome and publisher Hatinh Interactive. The game has been confirmed for PC, Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. It will also be likely be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility. A release is expected later this year. The developers have stated that Tandem is inspired by the works of Jules Verne and Tim Burton. You can definitely tell from the visuals of the game as seen in the trailer.
When the game was revealed earlier this year JB Grasset, CEO and co-founder at Monochrome Paris, said:
“With Tandem, our ambition is to evolve the puzzle platformer genre through immersive storytelling, jaw-dropping production values, and thought-provoking gameplay. We can’t wait to captivate players later this year.”
The story of Tandem: A Tale of Shadows is set in the Victorian ages where Emma and her teddy Fenton are looking for clues regarding the disappearance of Thomas Kane. There will be five different areas with 48 levels between them to explore. In the game with the perspective shifting depending on who you are playing is. Emma’s sections play from a top down view, while Fenton’s sections switch to a side scrolling perspective. There will be bosses to take on in the game but Emma is not a fighter, so there will be different ways to tackle those bosses as well as other enemies in the game.
