Scarlet Nexus demo out now on Xbox, coming next week to PlayStation

A demo for anime action RPG Scarlet Nexus is available today for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, one week ahead of its availability on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on 28th May.

You can download the demo now via your Xbox, the Xbox app (search for ‘Scarlet Nexus Demo Edition’) or by following this link to the Microsoft Store:

The demo will give you a little glimpse of what’s available in the full game, letting you play up to the first boss encounter. You can choose to play as either of the two main characters – Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall – giving you a different twist on the game’s combat depending on which you choose.

Yuito fights with close-ranged sword attack and can borrow Pyrokinesis, Teleportation, Clairvoyance and Sclerokinesis powers from his team members, while Kanase is more about mid-ranged attacks using flying knives. She can also lean on Electrokinesis, Hypervelocity, Invisibility and Duplication abilities depending on who is in her party. Either way, you’ll be battling against the game’s bizarre Others as they invade the cyberpunk-inspired city.

We got to go hands on with Scarlet Nexus a little while ago, with Jason coming away quite happy with what he got to see. Read our full Scarlet Nexus preview here, where he wrote:

My time with Scarlet Nexus has left me really curious about it, and certainly a lot more excited than I was before going hands-on with it. It feels like a natural evolution from previous anime games that Bandai Namco has release, and I prefer it to many of their anime adaptations, partly because it feels like a game that could be an anime, rather than the other way around.

Scarlet Nexus will be coming out for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 25th June.
