STALKER 2 gets a brand new game play trailer, out April 2022

GSC Game World has released a brand new trailer for STALKER 2 showing a mix of combat, world exploration, and some rather nice post apocalyptic scenery. During the trailer the combat shows the main character facing off against other humans, and also some of the creatures that haunt the Zone. The trailer also ended with a release date for STALKER 2, and that will be April 28th 2022. As previously announced, STALKER 2 will be a timed console exclusive on Xbox consoles as well as releasing on PC. How long that exclusivity will last is unknown.

Following on from the cult classic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 promises to be a wide open immersive sim and FPS, dropping players into a large open world and giving you an engaging branching story to explore with multiple endings. GSC Game World describe this game’s The Zone – the area surrounding the Chernobyl reactor in an alternate history version of the world – as being “one of the biggest seamless open-worlds to date.”

The game has been in development for absolutely ages (or at least it was first announced back in 2010), but it was long thought to be a dead project. GSC Game World did not give up on the sequel however, and you can see the result of that. The full name of the game will be STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
