ST Aiko 500

Daedalic Games and Mimimi Games have announced that Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will be getting a new standalone expansion called Aiko’s Choice, and it will be released in December for PC. As the name suggests, this expansion will be focused on the protagonist Aiko as she tackles the spymaster Lady Chiyo and puts to rest her own past. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Aiko’s Choice will feature three new mainline missions along with three smaller interlude missions, with new environments in which to carry out the objectives.

Much like the full Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun players will take control of a team to carry out the missions, choosing between lethal and non-lethal attacks. The expansion will feature three different difficulty levels. Players will also be able to synchronise their team attacks through Shadow Mode.

In our review for the original release of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Miguel wrote:

There aren’t many games like Shadow Tactics, and thankfully, it sets the bar high for any would-be challengers. The blend of RTS controls with stealth-oriented gameplay and level design create incredibly satisfying, almost puzzle-like encounters. It takes a lot of time and patience to be able to discover the solutions to these puzzles, however, and the hours long missions often left me feeling fatigued before I was even halfway through with them. Shadow Tactics is a unique exploration of the stealth genre with a great amount of polish, but if you’re going to dive in, be prepared for just how deep the water is.
