“Next-gen battle royale experience” PUBG: New State has launched on on iOS and Android in more than 200 countries following a successful technical test. The game has been developed by the same team behind the original PUBG game and is free to play with microtransactions.

Here’s the launch trailer.

The new game is set in 2051 and includes weapon customization, the drone store and a player recruitment system. It is playable in seventeen languages and includes three game modes. Battle Royale will find players fighting across Troi and PUBG franchise staple Erangel, a 4v4 Deathmatch will offer a more focused experience while the Training Ground lets you test your skills before joining a big battle.

There is a monthly Survivor Passes that allow players to unlock a variety of in-game rewards and Ranked Seasons that allow players to compete against other Survivors, increase their “tier” and earn high-end in-game rewards. Ranked Seasons will run for two months at a time.

“PUBG: NEW STATE has been and will continue to be a labor of love for the team at PUBG Studios, and we could not be more grateful to our global fans who have consistently shown their enthusiasm and support for the game since our announcement,” said Minkyu Park, Executive Producer for PUBG: NEW STATE. “By delivering next-generation battle royale gameplay experiences on mobile previously only seen on PC and consoles, we are confident we’ll meet the high expectations of our players, and are committed to ensuring it will be the premier mobile gaming experience for years to come.”

If you play the game any time between now and November 21st and participate in the “Play With Friends” event you will get the chance win an emote and a Chicken Medal – yep, that’s a thing – which can be used in the in-game store to buy an item.

In news that may sound familiar, the game has launched with server issues. “For the past day, we fully acknowledge that we were not able to meet those expectations or provide a great gaming experience and wish to express our apologies,” said Krafton.
