Activision and Sledgehammer Games have announced that Call of Duty: Vanguard Season 1 has been delayed. By extension, the planned launch for Warzone Pacific and the new Caldera map have also been put back.
Fans of the World War II online shooter won’t have to wait long, however. The new season will officially kick off on December 8th, a week after the original release date.
Update: Season 1 of #Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will now release Dec. 8.

What can Call of Duty players expect from Vanguard Season 1? As in Black Ops Cold War, each season will introduce new content and a fresh battle pass, giving you a wider pool of maps play, weapons to unlock, and Operators to customise. The Zombies mode is also due to receive an update in the future though Treyarch has yet to share any details.
Those who own a copy of Call of Duty Vanguard will also get early access to the new Warzone Pacific Caldera map on December 8th. The doors to Caldera will then open to everyone the following day on December 9th. This brand new arena kicks the battle royale action back to World War II with a completely new look and loadout options.
In our Call of Duty Vanguard review, we scored the sequel a heroic 9/10:
The stars have aligned for Call of Duty: Vanguard. For the first time, this truly feels like a full package without any caveats. Sure, some parts are naturally stronger than others but there isn’t a weak link in sight. After back to back triumphs, Call of Duty is now on a killstreak.
Call of Duty Vanguard is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
