Frontier Foundry and developer Complex Games have announced that turn-based tactical game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters will release on 5th May 2022. The game is now available to pre-order across Steam and the Epic Games Store, starting at £34.99/$44.99/€44.99.
Not only are they announcing the release date, but they’ve also revealed that Andy Serkis has joined the game’s cast of actors to voice the character Vardan Kai, a Grand Master and Steward of the Armoury, in the game’s campaign.
Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is a turn-based tactical RPG where you command a ship of Grey Knights as they seek to push back the spread of Bloom, a plague spawning from the Chaos God Nurgle that is threatening to consume the galaxy. You’ll command the ship Baleful Edict as you decide which planets to try and save from this emerging danger, and where to focus your Grey Knights’ efforts.
Last week, Complex Games revealed four new classes of Grey Knight that you can earn and take into battle. Alongside the starting classes of the Justicar, Interceptor, Purgator and Apothecary are the new Advanced Classes: Paladin, Chaplain, Librarian and Purifier. You’ll be able to earn these classes through the campaign, each coming with a unique set of upgrades and abilities.
Those who pre-order the game will gain two exclusive in-game items. You have the ancient tome Domina Liber Daemonica, a powerful artifact containing words with the power to send Daemons back into the Warp, while the Destroyer of Crys’yllix Daemonhammer, meanwhile, was the first Nemesis Daemonhammer of its kind and a storied weapon that shattered the Lord of Change Crys’yllix centuries ago.
Additionally, the Castellan Champion Edition comes with a £10 premium, and grants players access to an exclusive character: Castellan Garran Crowe. He will join the campaign partway through the story as a Grey Knights Champion available to fight alongside the rest of the squad.
