With Kirby and the Forgotten Land out next month for Nintendo Switch, the latest trailer for the game has revealed a big new ability for the omnivorous pink puff-ball: Mouthful Mode!
Mouthful Mode lets Kirby inhale all manner of regular objects and adopt some of their abilities. This includes glomming onto a car, sucking in a whole vending machine, or just sucking up a whole load of water.
Additionally, with new dangers awaiting you, Kirby can visit Waddle Dee’s Weapons Shop, where copy abilities can be evolved to expand its range of attacks, change Kirby’s appearance, and make him more powerful.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches on 25th March.
With a full shift to 3D from making a huge shift for the series, this is perhaps the biggest Kirby game in years. Looking back to the last Kirby game that was released for Nintendo Switch. In our Kirby Star Allies review, Dave wrote:
“Kirby Star Allies feels like a greatest hits collection rather than its own unique experience. It takes inspiration from the majority of classic Kirby games and while it doesn’t have quite the level of scope that Kirby Super Star had back in the day, there’s a great amount of fun to be had. It’s certainly more fun with friends and is well made, having plenty of nostalgia for the pink puffball’s fans, but it’s certainly the easiest Kirby game in years.”
