SIMULACRA 3 has been revealed by Neon Doctrine and Kaigan Games, and so far it has been confirmed for PC and mobile devices. This new entry to the horror franchise has not got a release date yet though it is expected soon. SIMULACRA 3 builds on its predecessor by adding new real time elements to the gameplay, and introduces a brand new story. The teaser trailer introduces a character that is investigating mysterious disappearances of people in the town of Stonecreek.

Rebecca Hee, Jr. game designer, said,” It’s been cool exploring the series in another lens and I hope people have fun learning about Stonecreek and the characters as much as I did writing them.” While Shahrizar, CEO of Kaigan Games said, “Simulacra 3 is both the end and the beginning of something new for the SIMULACRA games. I am hopeful that the game becomes as meaningful to our players as it is for us.”

Hannah Hisham, Jr. Project Coordinator, also spoke about developing SIMULACRA 3, saying, “Working in the pandemic/endemic has been rough but I am glad that the team pulled through, from programming to filming to making sure everything was good to go. I hope the fans enjoy the third installment. It’s definitely something different!

The key features of SIMULACRA 3 include:

  • See your actions play out in real time. You’re not just finding out what happened, it’s happening to you!
  • React to video calls in real time, think fast and decide fast, your decisions can save lives.
  • Hack into security systems to aid Ruby as she evades danger in your investigation.
  • Learn about the once-charming rural town of Stonecreek, now corrupted by gentrification and evil’s shadow.

In our review for SIMULACRA 2, Steve wrote: “Simulacra 2 is a worthy sequel and an immersive take on the role that our digital presence has in defining who we are. The different playable characters help to give a different perspectives to the sotyr and the suspects are sufficiently flawed to keep you guessing as to where blame may lie, but the wider cast of characters don’t feel as focussed as the original. While the virus in question here is completely digital, it’s uncannily topical given our enforced switch to virtual interactions.”
