Falling Out is the first game revealed by new indie publisher Firestoke, with the game itself being developed by PolyCrunch Games. Falling Out is a 2D roguelite where players take on the roles of two amateur and accidental adventurers, Giorgio and Felicie. In Falling Out, players will explore a number of places like ancient kingdoms that have not had people disturb them for a while. You can watch the trailer below.
“ Falling Out was inspired by the charmingly colourful 16-bit era of gaming, the challenging and rewarding nature of classic roguelikes but with the aim to bring it to a wider audience. Firestoke was the perfect partner for my vision due to their desire to make accessible games that everyone can enjoy. That’s what we’re building and I can’t wait for everyone to try the demo!” said Neville Attard, Founder of PolyCrunch Games.
“We’re delighted to have partnered with PolyCrunch Games to bring Falling Out to a global audience. Our aim is to deliver compact, accessible, social and – most importantly – joyful games for console and PC. Falling Out is all of those things and much more!” Paul Farley CEO and Founder of Firestoke added. “The game is currently scheduled to be our first release and we can’t wait to share it with players later in 2022.”
In the game all the temples are procedurally generated so no two runs will be the same. Falling Out is playable solo but there is also the option of co-operative multiplayer so each player takes control of either Felice or Giorgio. Both characters will have their own abilities so switching between them to get through levels will be a must, and within a time limit as the temples do flood so you need to grab as much treasure as possible as quickly as possible. Falling Out is expected to release this year on PC and consoles. The PC demo will be available through Steam.
