2K Games has confirmed it will be shutting down the servers for two WWE titles later this year. Both WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20 will be taken offline on June 20, 2022.
? Attention WWE 2K community: On June 30, 2022, we will sunset support for WWE 2K19 & WWE 2K20 servers. This includes all online functions, such as online matches & Community Creations. We are turning our full focus toward supporting #WWE2K22. Thanks for your continued support! pic.twitter.com/vOJ06AA9iy

With WWE 2K22 having recently launched, it’s time to pull the plug on those older entries. As the statement points out, from June 30th you will no longer be able to play online matches or download user-made content from the Community Creations hub. If you were planning to mop up some leftover trophies and achievements you’d better do it fast.
The wrestling game franchise returned earlier this year after a lengthy hiatus and a change of developer. Was it worth the wait? While WWE 2K22 has performed better than past titles, the end result is far from revolutionary. Here’s what Ade had to say in our WWE 2K22 review:
WWE 2K22 isn’t a good fighting game, despite the multiplayer being a bit of knock-around fun. The woolly controls, messy inputs, and numerous glitches lead to an underwhelming video game experience, while the lacklustre Showcase and MyRise game modes don’t manage to replicate the bombast of professional wrestling, WWE 2K22 isn’t a particularly good wrestling game either. It’s a decent laugh in multiplayer, but with the notably hefty price tag I would expect a lot more than that.
Since launch, 2K has continued to make improvements on the base game, ironing out bugs and improving visuals.
After an excruciating drought, wrestling can expect more video game action in the near future. Rival network All Elite Wrestling is busy at work on its own game, developed by WWE veterans, Yuke’s. The project finally has a name – AEW Fight Forever – though we have no news yet on a release date or which platforms will it be available on. Hopefully a gameplay reveal isn’t too far from reach…
