Ubisoft has officially revealed For Honor’s new hero, the Medjay. This Egyptian fighter will join the game’s current roster on July 28, 2022 as part of Year 6 Season 2.

As always, each For Honor hero is defined by their weapon of choice. For Neferkha the Medjay, this happens to be the Fan Axe which is definitely one of the game’s most unique weapons to date. In pole form, the double-ended axe can slash at foes from a distance, splitting into two hatchets when the Medjay wants to close in for some deadly, dual-wielding action.

During Ubisoft’s latest For Honor Warrior’s Den livestream, fans were treated to an in-depth look at the character’s move set and feats. If we had to guess, the Medjay’s complex kit will make him a “hard” tier hero, though this doesn’t mean newcomers or novice players won’t be able to pull off some flashy kills and combos.

The Medjay will arrive on Thursday, July 28, 2022, and will initially be available as a premium purchase only. Judging by the price of previous heroes, we’d expect him to cost around £6.49 at launch. However, if you’re willing to wait a couple of weeks, you can unlock him by spending 15,000 Steel. Given how generous For Honor is in distributing this in-game currency most regular players will already have the funds to get the Medjay after his brief premium access period.

In early 2022 Ubisoft added the Pirate, the first hero in the new Outlanders faction. Unlike other factions, which are based on Knight, Vikings, Samurai, and warriors of Ancient China, the Outlanders give Ubi the opportunity to create new characters who don’t slot into one of these alliances. Who could the next For Honor hero be? Maybe an apache or aztec fighter? A hero based on a Rajput Warrior or Persian Immortal?
