Each month’s batch of new games for Xbox Game Pass also comes with a handful of titles being cycled back out of the subscription service library. Outside of Microsoft’s own first party titles, games are only added to Game Pass for so long before the end of the contract. So… what games are leaving Xbox Game Pass in August 2022?
Games leaving Xbox Game Pass | August 2022
Five games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on 15th August, and they are as follows
- Boyfriend Dungeon (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Curse of the Dead Gods (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Library of Ruina (Cloud, Console, and PC)
- Starmancer (Game Preview) (PC)
- Train Sim World 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
While none of these games are big budget AAA blockbusters, there’s still some great gaming to be had in each, and several of them launched into Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Boyfriend Dungeon is one particularly quirky offering, a dungeon crawler where you don’t just run around with a massive weapon, but get to date them as well. Each weapon transforms into a man, woman, or non binary individual who players can befriend and date. Of course!
Completely different is Train Sim World 2, which lets you drive the very real world trains and real world routes. It’s rather meticulous, and has years of additional content backing it by this point, but looking back on our original review, Gazza wrote:
“I’m hoping that Train Sim World 2 can serve as a platform that Dovetail can continue to expand on, not just in terms of routes and trains, but features that fans have been looking forward to for years. If you’re new to the series, or train simming in general, this really is the most accessible and best way to start.”
Then there’s the roguelite crypts of Curse of the Dead Gods, space station building ofStarmancer, and intriguing battles of Library of Ruina.
Can’t I just keep playing them?
Once they’ve If you’ve not played these games, but they sound interesting, you still have until 15th August to quickly try them out, or run through the few hours of bloody slaughter that Carrion provides. If any of them tickle your fancy, subscribers can then get a 20% discount while they’re still a part of the Game Pass library. On the other hand, you might prefer to wishlist them and hope to spot them in some of the many, many sales that grace every digital platform these days. Just because they’re leaving Xbox Game Pass doesn’t mean you have to never play them again (or until they return).
OK, but what new games are coming to Xbox Game Pass this month?
For August 2022, Microsoft has kicked things off with Ghost Recon Wildlands, but that will continue with the day one releases of Turbo Golf Racing and Two Point Campus. Find out about the Xbox Game Pass August 2022 additions here.
