The September line up for Xbox Games with Gold has been confirmed. The four games that will be added to keep for Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are Gods Will Fall, Double Kick Heroes, Thrillville, and Portal 2. In October, Microsoft will be removing Xbox 360 games from the Games with Gold line up.
The four games will be available through different dates, as is standard with Games with Gold staggered releases. You can check out when you can grab each game to add to your collection.
- Gods Will Fall – Available September 1 to 30
- Double Kick Heroes – Available September 16 to October 15
- Thrillville – Available September 1 to 15
- Portal 2 – Available September 16 to 30
The description for Gods Will Fall reads as follows: “The gods’ torturous rule over humanity has lasted for millennia. In our review for Double Kick Heroes, Drea wrote, “Double Kick Heroes is a good game, even a great game if you’re a metalhead. The artwork portrays a varied post-apocalyptic wasteland as you race across the world battling all sorts of enemies with the power of metal. The soundtrack holds its own and is worth a listen even outside the game. If you like metal or zombies in any way you will thoroughly enjoy this game and the unique combination of the two.”
Thrillville’s Xbox 360 follow up Off the Rails was given away in July, so it seems that Microsoft thought it best to let people complete the set by adding the original Xbox game to this line up, allowing players to build theme parks.
Portal 2 is one of the most acclaimed games of all time, and in our review Nofi wrote, “The biggest disappointment is realising that, once you’re done, Valve Time will mean we’ll be without the warm bosom of GLaDOS for – presumably – years. Regardless, games like this don’t come around very often, and if you miss out on this one you’ll be skipping one of the finest examples of the medium the industry has to offer: Portal 2 is compelling, exciting, wildly capricious and, most importantly, laugh out loud funny. And who knows, maybe there’ll be a surprise waiting for you – at the end.”
He wasn’t wrong since there is still no Portal 3.
