Pikmin 4 is coming out in 2023!

Shigeru Miyamoto popped into the Nintendo Direct to announce that Pikmin 4 will be coming out for Nintendo Switch in 2023!

No gameplay was shown for Pikmin 4, but new for this game is a much lower Pikmin-level perspective point. Miyamoto also states that the Nintendo Switch allows for much simpler controls. This enables what they call ‘Dandori’, the ability to more strategically plan and put them into place.

That’s all we know about Pikmin 4 right now, but hopefully it won’t be too long before Nintendo can tell us more.

In the meantime, this might pique your interest in the previous games of the series. Pikmin 3 came out for Nintendo Switch in 2020, one of the many, many, many games ported from Wii U to Switch.

In our Pikmin 3 Deluxe review, Jim said, “Pikmin 3 Deluxe is yet another Wii U transplant though one that slots seamlessly into Switch’s first party line-up. Although unwieldy and slow to start, Nintendo’s charming inventiveness has produced an intriguing, if not excellent, entry in the strategy genre.”
