Age of Mythology: Retold has been revealed

Age of Mythology Retold

Age of Mythology: Retold has been announced by Microsoft, and it will be coming to PC Game Pass once it is released. Age of Mythology: Retold will be getting updated gameplay, and reworked graphics in a similar vein to the Definitive Edition updates that Age of Empires II received when that was released.

Age of Mythology was first released in 2002, taking the formula of the Age of Empires series and applying it to ancient mythology. The game featured the three cultures of Ancient Egypt, Norse, and Ancient Greece, with players picking the major god of their choice that would influence how the campaign would unfold. Players would progress through four ages with each age change allowing players to pick a minor god, with these minor gods unlocking different units and abilities.

In terms of gameplay, Age of Mythology has players build their units and towns up to face off against the enemy. Age of Mythology did have a story as well which followed Arkantos, an Atlantean General, who is hunting a Cyclops that has allied with Poseidon to bring about the downfall of Atlantis. Since its initial release, Age of Mythology has had some updates. The first of those was The Titans expansion pack in 2003, with a second expansion called Tale of the Dragon following 13 years later in 2016.
