King of Fighters XV Season 2 begins in January

King of Fighters XV Review Header

King of Fighters XV’s season two will be starting in January, SNK has confirmed. Shingo Yabuki will be the first character available as part of King of Fighters XV season two, while other characters on the roster will be refined. What those refinements will be have not yet been detailed. Kim will be the second character coming in season two during the Spring, along with the crossplay update.

King of Fighters XV was released earlier this year. The game was originally scheduled to be coming in 2021, but due to the COVID 19 Pandemic the release was delayed. SNK announced the game back in 2019 on the last day of that year’s EVO tournament. The last outing, King of Fighters XIV, released six years ago and was a quiet success for the developer.

In our King of Fighters XV review, Dom wrote, “King of Fighters XV marks an excellent return for the series, modernising it at nearly every turn. While we await a story that’ll finally do justice to the characterful roster, it stakes a claim to SNK’s past with an eye firmly on the future.”
