Sony has confirmed the full PlayStation VR 2 launch line up of games, with 30 games set to release either at launch of during the first month of the new VR headset’s availability. As part of this, they’ve confirmed 13 more titles that are either new, remastered or freely upgraded for the headset.
These 13 additional games include new PSVR games including Before Your Eyes – winner of our Best Narrative 2021 award thanks to its emotional storytelling and innovative blink-based gameplay – the serene looking Kayak VR: Mirage, puzzle automation game The Last Clockwinder and shooter Pavlov VR which is jumping over from PC VR. Then there’s the American Football quarterbacking game NFL Pro Era, and similarly sportsy What the Bat?
There’s also remasters and enhanced releases of Rez: Infinite, Tetris Effect: Connected, Puzzling Places, Song in the Smoke: Rekindled, Synth Riders: Remastered Edition, Creed: Rise to Glory – Championship Edition, and Thumper.
There was also news that GT7’s free upgrade will be the full game in PSVR 2.
PSVR 2 will launch on 22nd February (and costing more than a PS5) ushering a new era for console-driven virtual reality gaming. The headset requires a PlayStation 5 in order to use, but makes major changes to how the system works, shifting to inside-out tracking so that you no longer need a separate camera or sensors, coming bundled with a pair of Sense controllers so that individual hand tracking can be guaranteed and to provide haptics and adaptive triggers, and making the most of the PS5’s power to deliver higher resolution and frame rate gaming.
