As Microsoft are finally giving Xbox gamers something to get excited about, Zenimax have announced the latest Elder Scrolls Online chapter is called Necrom, and it’s releasing for consoles and PC this June.
Necrom brings with it a brand new playable class is the shape of The Archanist, who wields weaponised forbidden knowledge and has new abilities never seen before in ESO. It also takes place in Eastern Morrowind, not seen in an Elder Scrolls game since 1994. The Archanist is only the third new class to appear since launch so this is a huge addition for long time fans. The story will see the return of a number of well known faces, and centres around ‘a well known Daedric prince from the Dragonborn DLC’. Make of that what you will.
For those of you who haven’t had time to adventure in Tamriel before, there’s a special bonus going for all ESO players, old and new, as Zenimax have, for a limited time, made all of the previous DLC expansions and chapters free to all. For Xbox Game Pass subscribers that’s even better as Elder Scrolls Online is part of your subscription already.
This is an exciting time to hop into Elder Scrolls Online, as it’s a huge expansive adventure that you can enjoy solo or in multiplayer. There’s also a specially built new-gen version for the Series consoles with higher fidelity graphics and a number of quality of life improvements. It’s a fantastic MMO, and it’s truly an Elder Scrolls game in the same vein as Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind. There’s a wealth of content to immerse yourself in, whether that’s questing and combat, or crafting and decorating your home. There’s literally thousands of hours here, so it’s probably one of the best value games you could buy right now.
Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom launches on the 5th of June 2023 for PC, while Xbox players can hop in a few short weeks later on the 23rd of June 2023.
