In keeping with the past few Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 4 Remake contains bobblehead statues that you have to destroy for an in-game challenges, and with a handy reward for your troubles at the end of it. Here’s a guide for all the Resident Evil 4 Clockwork Castellans and what you get after destroying them all.
What do the Clockwork Castellans give you in Resident Evil 4?
Finding all of the Clockwork Castellans and destroying them gives you a fantastic reward in the form of a Primal Knife which you can retrieve from your Storage Box after completing this task. Once fully upgraded, the Primal Knife is indestructible, and that makes it pretty much essential to get, given how useful the knife parrying is on harder difficulty modes.
How to find the Clockwork Castellan bobbleheads
There is one Clockwork Castellan in each of the 16 chapters in Resident Evil 4, but thankfully you do not need to get them all in a single run, and they are saved on a profile-wid basis. If you miss any of them, you can load up a save file, shoot them and return to the main menu, even.
Finding the Clockwork Castellans is a case of listening out for their distinctive clockwork ticking sound. We have pointers for each one below, but if you hear them but are struggling to pinpoint their location, put headphones on and let the directional sound guide you.
Resident Evil 4 Clockwork Castellan location guide
Chapter 1
In the lakeside settlement you’ll encounter a group of enemies in some rundown shacks. The long building in front of you when you enter contains the first statue. Dispatch the dynamite throwing enemy, enter the building and then look up into the rafters to find this one.
Chapter 2
In the shack before the second chainsaw encounter. On the desk is a note telling you to destroy the statues. This statue is in the opposite corner of the shack, just chilling out on the floor.
Chapter 3
Down the ladder in the Merchant area before the fish farm. Go to the right hand corner and look up for a gap in the roof.
Chapter 4
Behind the insignia key door in the Lakeside Settlement. Go up the ladder to the forest altar from the game’s intro movie. The statue is behind the gate at the far side of the area.
Chapter 5
In the attic of the Village Chief’s Manor. Go back after rescuing Ashley from the church to access the drop down ladder.
Chapter 6
Look by the lit fire beacon when you run around the top of the quarry.
Chapter 7
In the store room up the ladder from the castle dungeon. Look at the top of the shelves.
Chapter 8
Double back to the first tower in the battlements, opening the gates by shooting the yellow counterweights. Climb the ladder to the roof and go all the way around the rooftop to find the statue on some boxes.
Chapter 9
Hidden in the clockwork maze in the top-left hand corner of the area map. It’s behind a pillar by some boxes.
Chapter 10
After being dropped down into the cave and defeating the invisible bugs, you’ll find yourself in a sewer-like corridor. Opposite the merchant’s shop is a grate behind which you’ll find the Clockwork Castellan.
Chapter 11
After the first mine cart section you’ll reach a stopover point. Before continuing into the second cart, look inside the house and you’ll see this Castellan chilling out on the edge of the roof.
Chapter 12
The statue is on the bottom floor of the Clock Tower, sitting on some boxes under the staircase.
Chapter 13
Look beneath the truck outside of the locked warehouse.
Chapter 14
After Saddler kidnaps Ashley (again!) in the Amber Storeroom you’ll find yourself by some army tents. Climb the ladder behind these to find a room with a metal locker holding the Castellan.
Chapter 15
After the Cliffside ruins and before Specimen Storage you’ll find a small side room with a treasure chest inside. The Castellan is up in the rafters here.
Chapter 16
Behind the forklift in the final escape sequence.
And there you go, all Clockwork Castellans complete. Make sure to pick up the Primal Knife from the storage box in your next playthrough and remember that you’ll have to fully upgrade it to make it indestructible. Selling your combat knife should raise the necessary funds if you are running short.
