Looking for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor tips? As you venture into this ambitious sequel, you will have a lot to contend with as you learn new mechanics and adapt to a variety of combat scenarios. Even those who have graduated from Jedi Padawan may need a helping hand.

Following its first successful foray into a galaxy far, far away, developer Respawn Entertainment have a bigger, bolder vision for their Star Wars sequel.

To make things easier for you on this sci-fi odyssey, we have put together some tips that could help you as you travel across the galaxy trying to thwart the Empire in any way you can as Jedi hero, Cal Kestis.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Tips

  1. Training – Every Jedi must train, and when the menu for training opens up when visiting meditation points it is well worth seizing these opportunities. The training modules are split between basic and advanced techniques, where you will get to grips with the basics of the lightsaber, and become familiar in the ways of the Force. The training does not take too long to complete and it will help you get the most out of combat, because when you are in the thick of it you’ll want to know how to fight your way out without dying.
  2. Shortcuts, shortcuts, shortcuts – Some of the areas Cal and BD-1 explore are vast, like really vast. Handily there are helpful zipwires that can be activated, and doors that can be unlocked to open up pathways. BD-1 will alert you to most of these but sometimes you may miss one. As you explore areas, look around for zipline points, and activate them. Try every door too. It will either open up a shortcut or lead you to a new area filled with secrets.
  3. Talk to the NPCs – Each world has NPCs you can talk to, with Koboh hosting many of them. Speak to every single one of them because it is through these characters you will learn more about the lore, and hear rumours. In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor rumours are the equivalent of side quests. As you may expect, they can either be quite to-the-point or a bit vague. Some may tell you to explore a certain place, while others will let you know of potential dangers in an area.
  4. Explore! – Go off the beaten path as soon as you can. There are lots of secrets to discover. You will find things like Force tears that are challenges to take on, crystals that will grant you additional XP, and things to do like gardening, and bounty hunting. Doing this will help you achieve the next part faster.
  5. Unlock and upgrade skills – As you fight enemies, complete missions, and explore the world, Cal will earn experience that will convert into skill points. You can spend these skill points in three categories; Survivor, Lightsaber, and Force. Spend points in Survivor first to upgrade Cal’s health and to improve the effectiveness of health stims. This will be the foundation in surviving the challenges of Star Wars Jedi Survivor.

In our Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review we scored the sci-fi sequel a solid 8/10:

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a great continuation of Cal Kestis’ journey. The story is a little predictable and platforming could be sharper, but this is a sequel that builds on the ideas of the original and there’s real enjoyment to be had in exploring the expansive new worlds, digging into the lore and running into secret boss fights.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
