Go Go Town public playtest begins July 3rd

Go Go Town is having a public playtest in July, developer Public Sloth has revealed, with players able to give the game a go from July 3rd. The public playtest will be taking place via Steam, and you can sign up through the Go Go Town website to take part.

“We want everyone to feel like their actions matter and that they could have fun around every corner, whatever that means for them,” said Adam Markham, Lead Designer, of Prideful Sloth. “Mayors can choose to go hands-on or automate everything to their heart’s content and spend more time socializing and coming up with new and crazy ideas.  Imagination is the only limitation in Go-Go Town!”

As the newly appointed mayor of a rundown town it is up to you to turn it around. The town itself is at the mercy of a corporation called TownCo, and its scam of a restoration programme. Players will work to improve the town and try and take it out of the clutches of TownCo so that it can thrive on its own merits. That will mean cleaning the town up, planning its infrastructure, building shops and deal with challenges. Outside of building the town up you can relax and get to know the inhabitants as well as dancing and play games at the arcade. In the public playtest you will start from the very beginning and attempt to turn around the town’s fortunes.

Go Go Town has been confirmed for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
