Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have confirmed that Cities: Skylines 2 is coming out on 23rd October across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be in Xbox Game Pass as well.

The new trailer looks gorgeous and slick to play within. Cities: Skylines 2 will be a new and modern take on the city building genre, and will have fully-realised transport and economy systems, construction and customisation options and feature advanced modding capabilities from day one.

However, this will also be a big reset when compared to the eight years worth of expansions and updates made to the original game. The first half decade saw regular DLC that overhauled different areas of city management, added day-night cycles, disasters, new transportation options, prisons, and so much more. It will be interesting to see how much of that is built into the core of Cities: Skylines 2. There certainly look to be quite a lot of detailed customisation options.

I can’t wait!
