Future Microsoft first party games will not be released on Xbox One

Microsoft’s  game studio chief, Matt Booty, has been speaking to Axios about the company’s plans for the future and he has confirmed that first party games will no longer be released for Xbox One. There will support for ongoing games such as Minecraft and Sea of Thieves but no new releases, ”We’ve moved on to Gen 9,” said Matt

However, those with the older console will still be able to play new games via streaming on their consoles.  Sony have not announced anything in regards to the PS4, although many of it’s more recent reveals such as Spider-Man 2 are only available on PlayStation 5.

Those who watched the recent Xbox showcase may not be surprised by the news as all the Microsoft first party games (including those from Bethesda) are only coming to Xbox Series X|S,
