A fresh trailer for Tekken 8 has dropped, confirming that Feng Wei will feature in the upcoming fighting sequel, and that a closed beta test will run from 20th to 23rd October.
Tekken 8 is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on 26th January 2024.
Feng Wei joins a bustling roster of fan favourite fighters, and looks to be a powerful choice for players leaning into slick martial arts moves. Also he looks like he’s never smiled in his entire life!
With the game coming out in January, Konami are holding a second closed beta test starting on 20th October. It will run across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and you can register starting today on the game’s website… when that goes live.
There’s been a few changes compared to the last test, right down to the controls, so this should be a good indicator of how the game is progressing. In addition to the 16 characters from the first test, Raven, Azucena and Feng Wei will also be playable, and there’s a new stage in the beta with Azucena’s Ortiz Quorum stage in Peru.
Looking back on the last game, Tekken 7, we awarded it a mighty 9/10 in out review, saying: “Tekken 7 is a phenomenal fighting game experience and one I’d highly recommend. It’s by no means perfect, as the game is not without a few technical issues online, some long loading times, and minor continuity errors, yet as far as most people will be concerned, it delivers a stunning, up-to-date fighting game experience from one of the masters of arcade fighting games. A solid return to form.”
