The hit fishing and sushi bar management game Dave the Diver will be jumping onto PlayStation 5 in April 2024, it’s been announced. Oh, and there’s Godzilla DLC as well, which will burst out of the water in May!
Dave the Diver has been a huge success for developer Mintrocket, as it launched on PC last year to plenty of praise for it’s mixture of endlessly evolving and surprising gameplay ideas, and quirky sense of humour.
The game has already been released on console with a Nintendo Switch port at the tail end of 2023, though that version is…. not as good as it should be because of performance hiccups. There shouldn’t be any such problems with the PS5 port, at least.
Dave the Diver won our Best PC Game award in our 2023 GOTYs, with Dom saying, “With Dave the Diver you should prepare to be constantly surprised. On the surface, this is a game about diving with a portly man called Dave. You know he’s out of shape because everyone comments on it within the opening moments of the game, but it soon becomes clear that this is a man, and a game, with hidden depths.”
