Following the news that Microsoft has closed Arkane Austin, along with Tango Gameworks, it has been confirmed that Redfall will not receive any further updates. Those who purchased the Premium Bite Back edition of the game, or the Bite Back upgrade will not be getting the advertised content, including two new characters as a result. It has been confirmed that those who purchased that content will get the value of the upgrade back as part of the Redfall Credit program.
In a statement on the Redfall Twitter/X account, the team said, “Today it was announced that Arkane Austin will close and development will not continue on Redfall. To everyone that has supported the work from our Austin studio over the years, thank you. Thank you for spending time in our worlds and making them your own. Arkane Lyon will continue their focus on immersive experiences where they are hard at work on their upcoming project. Redfall players who purchased the Hero Pass as part of the premium Bite Back Edition or the premium Bite Back upgrade will be eligible to receive the value of the upgrade. While there will be no further updates, Redfall servers will remain online for players to enjoy.”
The Redfall Credit program website is now live, but there is little detail yet on how to claim back any purchase. Bethesda and Microsoft are yet to finalise what the process will be, and how people will be compensated.
