Sony has confirmed that the PSVR 2 PC adapter that leaked last week is real, and that people will be able to buy it from August 7th. The PSVR 2 PC adapter will allow those who own the headset to tap into the library of VR games on PC through SteamVR. The adapter will cost $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99.
There is a catch as not all of the PSVR 2 features will work on PC. HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (except rumble) will not work when using the headset to play games on PC. The PSVR 2 features that will function on PC are 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, see-through view, foveated rendering, and 3D audio where supported. The minimum specs that you will need to operate the PSVR 2 on PC are listed below.

If you do get the PSVR 2 PC adapter, set up is relatively straightforward. You will need to plug in the adapter to PC, along with a DisplayPort 1.4 cable. Sony does not provide this cable and you will have to purchase this separately if you do not have one already. You will also need to register for a Steam account if you do not have one already to get access to the SteamVR store and games library.
The PSVR 2 is currently on sale through Sony’s Day of Play promotion. You can pick up the headset by itself for £439.99, or get the PSVR 2 Call of the Mountain bundle for £479.99.
