Remedy Entertainment released a new trailer for FBC: Firebreak, their Control co-op spin-off, and pre-announced that a “special livestream” will take place on 24th April with “key launch details and future plans”.

So, it sounds like we can expect a release date announcement next week to narrow down the ‘summer 2025’ window it currently has, details on a post-launch roadmap, and some more glimpses of the missions that the game will feature.

The trailer, dubbed ‘Hazards of the Job’ showed off some of what you can expect to find running rampant in The Oldest House. In addition to the menacing sticky notes that were revealed with the last trailer, this featured a Furnace that spread fire across the Maintenance Sector, needing players to turn on sprinklers and fans to douse the flames, or the pink Exogenic Mass, which explodes if you touch it.

Thankfully you’ll have some buddies by your side to give you some morale-boosting pats on the back to get back to work. FBC: Firebreak is a three-player co-op shooter, loosely in the vein of Left 4 Dead. In addition to standard weapons like shotguns, there’s also a crank-fired fluid projector, an electric charge impactor, and the big wrench which can have a squeaky toy pig attached to it.

Remedy has already confirmed that FBC: Firebreak will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium. In addition to this, they’ve now confirmed that all playable content will be available to all players for free, meaning any new levels will be playable for all. There’s no word on monetisation outside of that, but Remedy will share those details another time. Maybe next week?
