The buzz about Switch 2 continues to grow, and we’re getting a clearer picture every day about the games we’re going to be playing, how they perform, and what we should be looking forward to beyond firing red shells at Luigi’s behind. As an anti-grav racing nut, I’m still absolutely stoked to see Fast Fusion at launch – it’s also the cheapest game in the lineup, so it feels as though everyone that owns a Switch 2 should pick it up.
But that’s all in the future, and this past week has been spent playing a few different things, including Roadcraft for next week’s review, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and Spirit of the North 2. I still haven’t started Clair Obscur, and I feel like I’m really missing out. Maybe next week will be the time to slot it in!
Practically copying and pasting from last week, Miguel has played a bunch of Doom: The Dark Ages and Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. There has been a sprinkling of Fortnite and Helldivers 2 on top to spice things up a little, though.
Aran has been playing Blades of Fire for review, which he can tell us about soon. He also tells us, “I’ve also played more Football Manager 24. Got knocked out of the playoffs with Ebbsfleet but I’ve signed some good players that’ll hopefully boost the squad for the new season. Had to get rid of some dead weight who were collecting high wages without contributing and putting the club at financial risk. We go again.”
Steve has been playing a range of indie games for review with those being lined up for the next couple of weeks. He’s also got the 1000gs for Clair Obscur, saying, “It has become one of my all-time favourite games and is a real shot in the arm for turn-based RPGs.” He continues, “I followed that up with a complete change of tone and pace by rinsing the Patrick Star Game which was actually a fun little distraction whilst I waited for Doom: The Dark Ages to unlock. I’ve just got started on that after fiddling with the settings to get the best performance/quality balance so looking forward to slaying from now on – and in the game too… Finally I’ve cleared up to Empire Strikes Back in the not-quite-endless quest to 100% Lego Skywalker Saga so should be done with that in the relatively near future.”
Ade finished some games this week! He polished off Atomfall, telling us, “I enjoyed it! So much so, that I’m interviewing the devs for a future Playing with History! I’m going to return to it for another playthrough at some point to do more stuff with Captain Simms – hardly spoke to the guy! My partner and I also finished Split Fiction, whilst it didn’t reach the dizzying heights of It Takes Two, it was still an immensely fun game. In addition to all that, I’ve been working on the Onimusha 2 Remake for review.”
And rounding things out, Tef played some games that he can tell you all about next week. He also joined me for some of the big kid sandpit action of Roadcraft to play in co-op.
What about you? What have you played?

More Oblivion, leveling up nicely and my pirate crew are contributing to my purse regularly – which is just as well because the amount of bribes i’ve had to dish out in lieu of being good at persuasion..
