Obsidian is still furiously ploughing a furrow toward launch of The Outer Worlds 2 on 29th October, but there’s still a bit of time for more trailers and reveals, isn’t there? Here’s all the companion characters you can meet and fight alongside, but definitely can’t sleep with, no matter how thirsty for them you are.
The five companions can join you on your adventure through the Arcadia colony, fighting alongside you, helping you to stop the threat to the universe, deal with factions, and all the other shenanigans you’ll get up to.
There’s Niles of the Earth Directorate, who can fix your stuff for you, the robot Valerie who brings healing and damage reduction, Aza from the Glorious Dawn, who has a bloodthirsty nature – she seems fun! – Inez from Auntie’s Choice who’s another good backup healer, Tristan with a giant axe, and Marisol from the Order of the Ascendant.
The Outer Worlds 2 will very much follow in the tone and style of the original, but promises to go bigger and broader on pretty much every level. There’s the new colony to explore in Arcadia, which is the home of skip drive technology, and which you explore as a new Earth Directorate agent trying to figure out if it’s responsible for all the big and scary rifts that are threatening the whole galaxy.
The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (and Game Pass, of course) on 29th October this year.
