Koei Tecmo is reviving an all time classic of the Musou genre, with Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. This remaster is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, and PC, set to be released on 19th March 2026.
You can argue that Dynasty Warriors 3 and is expanded rerelease Dyansty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends was when this series got really good, building on the Musou Mode as the second entry on PS2. We’re a world away from that game’s launch in terms of gaming hardware, so there’s a huge step up in visual fidelity through this remaster, to let you really take in the 1 vs. 1,000 action.
Complete Edition Remastered looks to retain the gameplay of the original game, but has rebuilt it using Unreal Engine 5, and the team has reconsidered some of the gameplay and UI to refine the experience. The Xtreme Legends content also brings more scenarios, officers such as Lu Bu, Meng Huo and Yuan Shao, and more weapons.
I’m not terribly familiar with the game, so I’ve definitely missed whatever it was teasing right at the end of the trailer.
