A few days ago, the Crazy Taxi socials suddenly came to life with a five-second teaser showing a taxi light switching on, and now we know why, because Crazy Taxi is back in business. During the Xbox Showcase, a new trailer for SEGA’s revival of Crazy Taxi, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, was shown.
Helmed by original Crazy Taxi creator Kenji Kanno, Crazy Taxi: World Tourwill take players on a high-octane adventure around the globe. In the new World Tour story-driven campaign, players will play as Axel, chasing down mysterious masked villains who stole his beloved taxi all while tackling missions and challenges, and if they come to the UK, lots of potholes.
Additional new features include:
- New maps and missions – navigate diverse terrain across five unique cities
- Multiplayer modes – play against friends or online competitors around the world
- New vehicles and customization – unlock a wide variety of vehicles and customization options to create your own one-of-a-kind ride
- Classic mode – revisit the thrills of the original games in Arcade Mode
This new iteration of Crazy Taxi, which was announced in 2023 alongside a new Jet Set Radio and Golden Axe, brings back the hallmarks of the series where players need to get their customers from one location to another as quickly as possible taking all manner of shortcuts, while trying not to scare the passengers too much.
Crazy Taxi will be available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series XS, and Switch 2 in 2027
