Nintendo Switch Sports Resort has been revealed for, inviting you to Wuhu Island (not in a The Sims kind of way) to play 12 new and returning sports.
Switch Sports Resort is coming out on 22nd October exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
Using the Joy-Con 2 for motion controls, Switch Sports Resort will feature the following sports:
- Boxing
- Table Tennis
- Archery
- Tennis
- Volleyball
- Bowling
- Basketball
- Golf
- Thumb Wrestling
- Skateboarding
- Power Cruising
- Prop Plane
And you can also warm up with Jump Rope.
A bunch of these are returning from the last Switch Sports. Of the new ones, there’s some inventive new controller uses, such as needing mouse mode to play Skateboarding, or using Joy-Con as handlebars for the jet ski racing of Power Cruising.
You’ll be able to play once again as your Mii or a SportsMii, which has enhanced customisation options.
Online play will be included, with details on the player count for each game to be revealed at a later date.
Back with the last game, Jason said in our Switch Sports review, “Nintendo Switch Sports is a fun reminder of the Wii Sports craze, bringing back some classic sports and adding some new ones that make use of the Joy-Con and motion controls in more advanced ways. It’s all just a bit shallow, though, and difficult to wholeheartedly recommend unless you expect to play online a lot or constantly break it out for local head-to-head battles.”
