Saber has fiddled with their scary Rubix cube to reveal the release date for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, and what would you know? It’s coming out just in time for Halloween! Hellraider: Revival will bring its flesh-ripping survival horror to Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on 8th October.
As with previous trailers for this game, the unrated version of the launch trailer has more gruesome stuff, and can be found exclusively on the Hellraiser: Revival website.
Hellraiser: Revival will come in a few versions, with a standard release which is priced at a thoroughly unscary £34.99 / €39.99, and a deluxe edition for £41.99 / €49.99, with the specific contents of this to be revealed closer to launch. Two Collector Editions of the game will also be released, including a Cenobite statue that can hold a replica of the Genesis Configurator from the game.
With that release date, the team has actually avoided the true horror of launching a video game in 2026, skirting past the September crush of GTA 6 avoiders, and avoiding GTA 6 in its own right. Of course, October is the accepted month for spooky game releases that aren’t Resident Evil, so the choice was pretty easy.
While a survival horror game, you’ve got plenty of action here, with a conventional weapon in one hand and the Genesis Configuration box in the other, meaning you’ll have all manner of abilities and skills for use in both combat and puzzles. The box can absorb fire and cast it at enemies, it can summon an impaling tangle of chains, use telekinesis to launch saw blades, rail spikes and more… but you’ll first need to gather the Suffering of enemies by performing execution moves.
Outside of combat, the Genesis Configuration can solve puzzles in the world, shape-shifting to fit certain holes, transforming parts of the Labyrinth and more.
