Saber Interactive has released the Limitless Strain update for World War Z, a free update that brings a bunch of new Horde Mode challenges, more mutators, unlockable frames, bonus weapons and more.
Additionally, for those who play on Xbox and PC, World War Z is now an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning that purchases on Xbox or via the Microsoft Store on PC can play the game across both platforms. This also enables cross-progression through the Xbox ecosystem. A nice little bonus!
The Limitless Strain update brings eight new Daily Challenges for Horde Mode, while also giving you new tools to try and overcome them. There’s three new customised frames which are unlocked by meeting specific milestones in the game, and then the new mutators to tap into.
Those six mutators are:
- Lethal Fumes: Booster infects nearby zombies after death
- Still Alive: Zekes only die from shots to the head (Private Lobby only)
- Deafening Scream: The Screamer’s sound is deafening at any distance
- Power Cut: Electric grids are shut down during the wave
- Overheat: A stationary machine gun can overheat, making it unable to fire
- Copycat: During the wave, only one type of special zombie appears
