Darktide’s new Skitarii class is now live

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide New Class Skitarii

Darktide, the co-op Warhammer 40,000 shooter from Vermintide developer Fatshark, has launched its newest class: the Skitarii. Bringing the game’s total roster of playable characters to seven, the Skitarii can be unlocked by purchasing the latest DLC, priced at $11.99 / €11.99 across all platforms including PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

For those fairly new to the 40K universe, the Skitarii are a faction of cybernetically enhanced soldiers who form part of Adeptus Mechanicus. They serve the Imperium’s machine-worshipping Tech-Priests and make for an interesting addition to Darktide’s gang of misfits.

Here’s what the Darktide Skitarii has to offer:

“Arm your Skitarius Alpha Primus with deadly Adeptus Mechanicus weapons! Rip your enemies apart with melee weapons such as the Mechanicus Power Sword, the Paired Transonic Blades or the Arc Maul. Decimate the enemies of the Omnissiah at range with weapons such as the Arc Rifle and the Mechanicus Phosphor Blast Pistol, or assassinate them with precision with the Galvanic Rifle.

This class also features a unique talent tree layout built for extreme versatility, and unique customization options! See under the robes of the Adeptus Mechanicus, choose from four distinct personalities and even customize your voice!”

The Skitarii marks the third major Darktide DLC since the game launched, following the Arbites class and the more recent Hive Scum class.

Going into 2026, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a much stronger, more layered and cohesive package than it was at launch or even a year ago. This is thanks to a steady stream of smart quality of life improvements alongside new content such as the roguelike game mode, Mortis Trials, more weapons, and an expanded endgame. Indeed, the game has reached a point where I find it hard to imagine making a return to Vermintide 2 any time soon.
